Silhouette of a person in golden sparkling light

Golden sparkling light

Taking pictures, the light from our sun is something we paint with as photographers. Just like an artist would use different shades and hues to create a certain atmosphere.

So too does the photographer with her lens, and the poet with their words.

Amidst the dusk
A flare of golden hue
Solar reflection
Bringing me to you

Silhouette against the fading light
Stars emerge
Before a shimmering night

Shine your rays
Like a setting star
Your glow I see
From near and far

What does it mean?

Who knows. Maybe something like this:

The poem paints a picture of a serene and somewhat magical evening scene. “Amidst the dusk” sets the stage for a transitional moment between day and night, a time of change and introspection. The “flare of golden hue” and “solar reflection” evoke the sun’s gentle descent, casting warm and radiant light on the surroundings.

The lines “Bringing me to you” suggest a sense of connection, as if the beauty of the natural world is drawing the speaker’s thoughts or emotions towards someone or something significant.

The “silhouette against the fading light” refers to a person or object casting a dark outline against the waning daylight. This imagery could represent an individual or an idea that stands out in contrast to the changes happening around them.

“Stars emerge” highlights the arrival of the night sky and its celestial wonders, symbolizing a transition from the familiar to the mysterious. The phrase “Before a shimmering night” further emphasizes the enchanting atmosphere of the impending night.

“Shine your rays” serves as an invocation for someone or something to reveal its brilliance. “Like a setting star” hints at the fleeting nature of beauty and significance, acknowledging that even the brightest moments eventually fade.

“Your glow I see, from near and far” expresses the enduring presence of this significant person or thing. The imagery suggests that this glow can be perceived both up close and from a distance, signifying the impact they have regardless of physical proximity.

Overall, the poem captures a sense of transition, connection, and the interplay between natural elements and personal experiences. It conveys a reflective mood and a yearning for something meaningful, all set against the backdrop of a serene and changing evening landscape.

Or perhaps it does something completely different for you…
